Occupational Safety & Health Association – OSHAssociation (Nigeria)
Overview
In line with international best practices, the promotion of a safe and secure working environment should be paramount in every organisation across formal and informal sectors. The reality about the health and safety of Nigerians is still in a dire state, as indicated by Environmental Performance Index Ranking Nigeria as one of the least clean countries – 151 out of 180 countries of the world and measuring overall health system performance for 191 countries byWorld Health Organisation, Nigeria ranks 187 out of 191 countries of the world.
The success story of the National Safety Advocacy Project (NSAP) is one that is not just applaudable but extremely remarkable considering the strides and the impact the Occupational Safety and Health Association achieved just within a year since the projects inception.
This booklet highlights succinctly the exploit and impact of the NSAP across all sectors of the country.
Following the mandate of the Occupational Safety & Health Association (OSHAssociation) to achieve zero deaths, fatalities and incidents in workplaces through the implementation of preventive strategies in all the sectors of the economy, including the informal sectors in Nigeria, we hereby request the partnership of all the organisations in Nigeria to join forces to support and provide realistic solutions to Health, Safety, Security and Environmental challenges in Nigeria.
